Hi anon, this is me speaking from my own personal experiences.
For me, the best option was to constantly study and do practice tests. If you are lacking in the grammar/writing section of the SAT, I highly recommend the book “The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar” by Erica Meltzer. It is straight to the point and has several practice tests specifically for grammar. I also recommend taking vocabulary tests/quizzes to extend your vocabulary. (I personally use the site vocabtest.com) I’ve never had too much problem with math, but you should probably get a practice book which goes over standard SAT type math questions. Go over topics you might’ve learned in Algebra and Geometry (or equivalents of those classes). For reading, the best option is to also do practice reading tests and read books on how to better your reading comprehension.
I take practice SAT tests every other weekend. I sit down for the standard four hours, take five minute breaks at the designated times, and time myself. I know this might all sound like too much, but really the only way to fully prepare for tests like the SAT or ACT is to just get used to those types of tests. Since you only have two months left, I really recommend doing it every weekend. Also you might want to install something similar to a site blocker so you won’t go on sites like Facebook and Tumblr.
I’ve done pretty much all of the stuff that I’ve mentioned, and I’ve managed to raise my score more or less 300 points. It really just depends on your preservation and willingness to do the work. This sounds cheesy, trust me I know, but hard work is really the only way you can raise your score that much.
Some other books I recommend are anything by the College Board (for practice tests) or Princeton Review. Anything by Dr. Gary Gruber is pretty good too.
I’ve only ever had the intention of taking the SAT and ACT, so I don’t know much about the TOEFL. Perhaps our followers can give us some more information?
Some motivation from the doctor.
